Kimi Raikonnen and Ferrari team looked faster than the Mclaren team totally opposite to the Monza race where Mclaren were the fastest car on the circuit. Kimi Raikonnen qualified on pole position and his team mate, Felipe Massa was the second fastest car in the final qualifying session. Mclaren's driver, Fernando Alonso qualified on third position and the current FIA formula 1 championship leader, Lewis Hamilton qualified on the fourth spot.
