Football: Arsenal Transfer Rumors

Now that Arsenal's season is all but lost without any silverware, the only thing to look forward to for the next couple of months it the transfer rumors that are linked with Arsenal.

Recently there has been some transfer rumors linking Alexander Hleb to Inter Milan. Alexander Hleb still has 2 years left in his contract and Arsene Wenger doesn't want to sell him. Wenger says, he will report Inter Milan to Fifa about how they approached Alex Hleb.

Mathieu Flamini might leave Arsenal as his contract is up this summer and he still hasn't signed a new deal with Arsenal. He is currently linked with a move to AC Milan. I think that is a very bad move on his part. He won't be as good as he is at Arsenal as it is the style of play and the players around him that makes him what he is at Arsenal. Well he has until this Monday at the most to sign a new contract with Arsenal.

The most recent rumors in the transfer market that are linked with Arsenal is Barcelona and Francesc Fabregas. It is rediculous. Arsene Wenger will never sell Fabregas, well not in the near future.

Barcelona are planning an audacious £30m bid for Arsenal's Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Catalan club may offer Samuel Eto'o, Deco, Eidur Gudjohnsen or former Gunner Thierry Henry in a part-exchange deal. (Daily Star)

That is a bit flattering but that is not going to happen. Fabregas is an integral part of Arsenal and Wenger won't sell the teams engine.

Another player that is linked to Arsenal but this time, coming to Arsenal is David Villa. I would like nothing more than to see David Villa at Arsenal next season but Real Madrid has reportedly made an offer to Valencia worth £24m. Tottenham has also shown interest in David Villa but the player has come out and said he won't play for the spuds. The most likely team he would join in England is Arsenal if Wenger can cough up some cash for him.

Tottenham look set to miss out on Valencia striker David Villa as Real Madrid have made a £24m bid for the Spain international.

Lets see what happens. Arsenal Wenger Plz bring David Villa to Arsenal next season, we need a striker of his capacity.

Football: England appoint new manager

England fired the last manager, Steve Mclaren as he was doing a poor job and Enland didn't even qualify for the EURO 2008 which was quite a shock to most people as England have lots and lots of world class players. Now a new manager has been appointed by the FA. There had been some talks of Jose Mourinho being linked as the next England manage but that turned out to be not true. England have appointed a new manager to do the job, and ex-Real Madrid maager Fabio Capello who managed to win a league trophy for Real Madrid after a long gap.

I don't know how he will turn out to be as England manager's job is very difficult. But he has time on his site to mold the team as he wants them to play as they won't be participating in the EURO 2008. Fabio Capello has a great stats to prove he can do the job at high pressure situations but England is a totally different acquisition so we will have to wait and see what happens.

Euro Qualifiers: England failed to qualify for the 2008 Euro

After a very poor performance in the Euro qualifiers for 2008, England had their destiny in their own hands after Russia failed to win in their last match against Israel. This put England's destiny in their own hands. Today England played their do or die match against Croatia at the new Wembley stadium.

First thing first, the pitch at the Wembley stadium was absolutely awful. It looked like the top European teams were playing in a bog. Steve McLaren was the newly appointed manager after Sven Goran Erricson and his team had a mountain to climb just after ten minutes of the game. Croatia were up by two goals to nil.

The team formation chosen by Steve McLaren were a bit negative as he played 4-5-1 from the start. England were lobing the ball to Peter Crouch as he was the target man. England's played a very one dimensional game.

It was a gift by Israel in the last match as if they have lost, England would have been out of the tournament then. The first half between England and Croatia ended 2-0 (Croatia in the lead). In the second half, England had some leash of life after a couple of positive substitution. This payed off soon enough when England was awarded the penalty and Frank Lampard scored from it. England were back in the game again. some minutes afterwards, David Beckham make an inch perfect pass to Peter Crouch, who equalized from it. Now all England had to do was to hang on to a draw. Steve McLaren made a very poor judgment and pulled back Jermaine Defoe a bit back to play in the hole behind Peter Crouch. Steve McLaren should have played positive football then as England were putting pressure to the Croatian defense. I think this was the crucial point of the game. If they had played with two strikers up top for the rest of the game after the equalizer, England could have won the game or atleast a draw was guaranteed. Because of the bit of a negative tactics, England lost.

Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard were both played in this game in the center of the midfield and they both failed to impress anyone. Croatia were playing on the counter strike and they just caught England as they took the lead again with the help of the left foot of Petric. The score ended England 2-3 Croatia and England are out of the 2007 European championships. This is a very disappointing result for England as they have a lot of stars and maybe because of the wrong managers or because the players were complaisant, they have disappointed in many big occasions.
