Football: Arsenal Transfer Rumors

Now that Arsenal's season is all but lost without any silverware, the only thing to look forward to for the next couple of months it the transfer rumors that are linked with Arsenal.

Recently there has been some transfer rumors linking Alexander Hleb to Inter Milan. Alexander Hleb still has 2 years left in his contract and Arsene Wenger doesn't want to sell him. Wenger says, he will report Inter Milan to Fifa about how they approached Alex Hleb.

Mathieu Flamini might leave Arsenal as his contract is up this summer and he still hasn't signed a new deal with Arsenal. He is currently linked with a move to AC Milan. I think that is a very bad move on his part. He won't be as good as he is at Arsenal as it is the style of play and the players around him that makes him what he is at Arsenal. Well he has until this Monday at the most to sign a new contract with Arsenal.

The most recent rumors in the transfer market that are linked with Arsenal is Barcelona and Francesc Fabregas. It is rediculous. Arsene Wenger will never sell Fabregas, well not in the near future.

Barcelona are planning an audacious £30m bid for Arsenal's Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Catalan club may offer Samuel Eto'o, Deco, Eidur Gudjohnsen or former Gunner Thierry Henry in a part-exchange deal. (Daily Star)

That is a bit flattering but that is not going to happen. Fabregas is an integral part of Arsenal and Wenger won't sell the teams engine.

Another player that is linked to Arsenal but this time, coming to Arsenal is David Villa. I would like nothing more than to see David Villa at Arsenal next season but Real Madrid has reportedly made an offer to Valencia worth £24m. Tottenham has also shown interest in David Villa but the player has come out and said he won't play for the spuds. The most likely team he would join in England is Arsenal if Wenger can cough up some cash for him.

Tottenham look set to miss out on Valencia striker David Villa as Real Madrid have made a £24m bid for the Spain international.

Lets see what happens. Arsenal Wenger Plz bring David Villa to Arsenal next season, we need a striker of his capacity.

Football: Arsenal vs Chelsea match preview

Arsenal have already qualified for the champion's league in second place behind Sevilla . Now other teams that qualified in first place must be a bit worried. Arsenal will play Chelsea at the emirates stadium and Arsenal's home record is damn good.

Football: Arsenal lost their first game

Last week, Arsenal lost their first match this season in the Barklays Premier League. The match was played against Middlesbrough. This was an away match but Arsenal have been playing well away from home too but in this match most of the vital first team players were injured. Middlesbrough managed to score an early goal thanks to the eagerness of Manual Almunia to come out of his post and making Kolo Toure to foul him as a consequence. A penalty was awarded and Steward Downing scored from it. Middlesbrough were ahead in just 4 minites of the start.

Arsenal didn't perform well at all and they looked a bid jaded because of the busy schedule before Christmas and also don't forget, Francesc Fabregas, Matheu Flamini, Robin Van Persie and Alexander Hleb were not even on the bench because of the injuries. Middlesbrough were two goals ahead in the seventy fourth minute thanks to the goal of Tuncay Sanli. This has to be Arsenal's worst performance this season till today. Arsenal managed to score a consolation goal in injury time. That was the best move Arsenal made in the whole match. A great one touch passing move from the left led to Tomas Rosicky scoring a consolation goal. You can read Middlesbrough 2-1 Arsenal match report here.

Football: Arsenal's highlights and lowlights till november

If you are an Arsenal Fan, you should not miss this. Arsenal have been in great form this season. Nobody gave Arsenal any chance of winning the title or even staying close to the top club but this has been proved wrong as they are in the top of the league and are three points ahead of the second position team, Manchester United and Arsenal still have a game in hand. The form Arsenal are in this season, the FA might as well hand them the Premier League title right now, lol (just kidding) but Arsenal have a huge chance of winning the league for real.
Ok, I found this video on footytube and I thought Arsenal fans would like it. This video has all the Arsenals highlights for the 2007-08 season till now.

I will be writing a review of Arsenal vs Newcastle tomorrow. I didn't catch the live game so I will have to view the highlights and write a review then.

Football: UEFA Champion's league wednusday's match

Liverpool has to win all their remaining games qualify to the UEFA champion's league knock our round. Liverpool got one step closer to qualify for the UEFA Champion's league knock out round after beating FC Porto. Still Liverpool aren't out of the jam yet, they still could be thrown out the competition in the league stage. If Liverpool want their destiny in their own hands, they need to win the last match of the UEFA Champion's League group stage.

Liverpool won 4-1 against FC Porto. Liverpool's star striker, Fernando Torres was the most influential player in the pitch and he started the the scoring for liverpool. He could have got a hat-trick but still two goals in a Champion's League match is no joke.

Looking at other Champion's League matches, Chelsea won against Rosenborg by 4 goals to nil. The Scottish team Celtic played against Shakhtar Donetsk. The result at the final whistle of the match was Celtic 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk. All the top teams have secured their place in the knock out round accept Liverpool and Lyon.

Football: UEFA Champion's league Tuesday's match

The UEFA Champion's league group stage match is almost over and some teams have already qualified to go to the knockout round. Arsenal have already qualified for the UEFA champion's league knock out round before they played Sevilla yesterday. Lyon had to play Barcelona and they needed some points from that match as they haven't yet qualified. Lyon might still slip up in their last match. Manchester United played Sporting Lisbon and they looked like they would loose the match if you had looked at the half time scoreline.

Sporting Lisbon were leading with one goal against Manchester United but the lead didn't last long as the very influential Carlos Tevez scored the equalising goal by deflecting in Christiano Ronaldo's long ranged shot. Then in the last minutes of the match, Christiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal for Manchester United. Manchester United are through to the UEFA champion's league knock out round.

Arsenal were already guaranteed a place in the knock out round before Arsenal played Sevilla. Arsenal had already beat Sevilla by three goals to nil when Arsenal played them at the emirates Stadium. Arsene Wenger made some changes to his team and played some young players. Arsenal took the lead with the help of Eduardo Silva, the new arsene wenger signing who scored a good goal in the twelfth minute. But they failed to win it as Sevilla scored three more goals to win it 2-1 at the end.

Other full time results are as follows:

Group E
Lyon 2-2 Barcelona
VfB Stuttgart 3-2 Rangers

Group F
Dynamo Kiev 1-4 Roma
Man Utd 2-1 Sporting

Group G
CSKA Moscow 0-1 PSV
Inter Milan 2-0 Fenerbahce

Group H

UEFA Champion's League: First round of group stage matches concludes

A great start to the UEFA champion's league group stage first round. Not all the clubs got the desired result. Chelsea were the big losers as they lost a game where they should have secured all three points. Rosenborg are not a great site compared to chelsea. Liverpool also had a poor result but they were down to ten men after Jermaine Pennant was shown his second yellow card. Well if you consider that, Liverpool would be happy to get one point away from home with just ten men.

The team I support, Arsenal got a great start to their UEFA Champion's League campaign beating Sevilla 3-0 comfortably. Arsenal are the form team right now and the spirit that Arsenal are showing this season is just great. I hope this form continues to the end of the season. Well maybe thats just too much positive thinking. All teams have a bad patch at one point or another in the whole season.

Barcelona vs Lyon was another match to watch and it didn't disappoint at all. A very positive display by Barcelona. Lyon didn't show much and the whole game was dominated by Barcelona. Barcelona score three goals with no reply by Lyon. First goal Lyon conceded was an own goal but other two were not. The third and final goal of the match was scored by Thierry Henry. Manchester United played against Sporting Lisbon and won 1-0. So a good result for all the top teams on the second day of the champion's league group stage match.

Football : Thierry Henry exits Arsenal

After a long and prosperous career with Arsenal, Thierry Henry, Arsenal's hit man who struck fear into opponents heart will no longer play in the English Premier League. After a very disappointing season in 2006/2007 with Arsenal, Thierry Henry has decided to leave Arsenal and sign a four year deal with Barcelona.Arsenal met Barcelona in the 2006 UEFA Champion's League finals and lost. After that, there was some speculation of Thierry Henry leaving for Barcelona but he decided to sign a four year contract with Arsenal and end his career at the Emirates Stadium. But that was not to happen because of some situation regarding the club. But I think that was only an excuse to leave Arsenal as Thierry Henry want to win the Champion's League before he retires and there is not a lot of hope of Arsenal wining the UEFA Champion's League any time soon.

This season , Thierry Henry was injured most of the time and only played about 20 game the whole season. This was due to a jam packed 2005/2006 season. Thierry Henry played a lot of games that season and reached the Champion's League final stage but lost. And just a couple of weeks later he played in the 2006 World Cup and again reached the World Cup final and lot to Italy.

Arsenal agreed a free of £16.1 million for the transfer of Arsenal's captain and the record breaking goal scorer, Thierry Henry which I think is a bad deal for Arsenal. Even Daren Bent costs £17 million, how come Arsenal sold Thierry Henry for just a mere 16 million.

I am a huge Arsenal fan and I would have love to see Thierry Henry finish his career at Arsenal like Denis Bergkamp but as we all know , Henry has transferred to Barcelona. Arsenal is in a state of panic, well the Arsenal fans are. There is only one year left in Arsene Wenger's contract and that has increased the tensions. Wenger said that he will only thing about the contract after it ends and the press are saying that he will follow Thierry Henry's lead and leave Arsenal. That would be a huge, I mean massive blow to all Arsenal. A lot bigger than Thierry Henry leaving. I just hope that Arsene Wenger extends his contract. If Arsene Wenger leaves next season, Arsenal will be in a real state of turmoil then. Wenger won't be leaving this season for sure as he has always honored his contract and he still has a year left in the contract. We will not know what Arsene Wenger's decision will be until the end of next season.

Both teams has some advantage going into the next leg at the San Siro ( AC Milan's home ground). AC Milan had two vital away goals even though they lost this match and Manchester United were leading AC Milan by one goal. UEFA Champion's League finals 2006-2007: AC Milan vs Liverpool

Yesterday , AC Milan and Liverpool played UEFA Champion's League final at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. Well, for me it was mostly a forgettable match.

Liverpool played a lot better than AC Milan in the first half and they had a lot of possession and created a lot of chances but just when the first half was about to end , AC Milan got a free-kick just outside the box. Liverpool gave a stupid free kick just outside the box and Pirlo took the free kick , and a slight defection from Inzaghi was all the difference from a goal and a save. Well , I would give that goal to pirlo ( think UEFA did that too ). The match went on as usual and Liverpool were pressing AC Milan . Liverpool created a lot of chances but failed to score. Then a great through pass from the AC Milan midfield and a great run from Pippo Inzaghi to beat Liverpool's offside trap let to a goal for AC Milan. Pippo Inxaghi beat Claudio Reina ( liverpool's keeper ) and AC Milan were 2-0 up.

Liverpool had a mountain to climb almost like in the 2005 champions League final, but this time the outcome was different. Liverpool managed to get a goal but that was just a consolation . Dirk Kuyt scored the only goal of the match for Liverpool. The repeat of the UEFA Champion's League 2005 final was not to happen. Not much inspiration from Steven Gerrard either but he came really close on some occasions .

The score was AC Milan 2-1 Liverpool at the final whistle.

Well here is some controversy for you, AC Milan shouldn't even have been allowed to take part in the UEFA Champion's League because of the scandal that took place before the 2006 FIFA world cup. I don't know why UEFA allowed AC Milan to take part in the competition but they did and now AC Milan won the UEFA Champion's League for the seventh time.

Uefa Champion's League 2006-2007

Olympic Stadium in Athens--->>

Tomorrow , the Champion's league final of the 2006-2007 season will be played at Athens' Olympic stadium. This is like a recap of the 2005 UEFA Champion's league finals .That was an amazing finals as Liverpool came back from a huge goal deficit . Liverpool were down 3-0 to AC Milan at half time but in the amazing six minutes in the second half, Liverpool scored three goals and they were back in level terms and Liverpool went on to win the UEFA Champion's League in the penalty shoot-outs.

What will happen this time around?? Will AC Milan take revenge on Liverpool??Will Liverpool do the double on AC Milan??Will this match go to penalties??

Who knows what will happen...Football is an unpredictable sport , the best sports ever, too much emotion, too much exciting (well some matches are boring) but still I am proud to say I am addicted to football.

Both , Liverpool and AC Milan will be playing with five men in the mid-field and only one striker. I don't know what the formation is going to be but I will put my money of AC Milan playing with five man mid-field. Don't know much about Liverpool, Rafa Benitez is just too unpredictable.

Review: Manchester United vs AC Milan Champion's League 2nd leg

Wow. I didn't expect that kind of performance from Manchester United. It was a poor performance to say the least. It was very unlike Manchester United. AC Milan were brilliant and in the first half , they scored two goals. The first goal was scored by Kaka and the second one was scored by Clarence Seedorf . In just about 30 minutes from the kick off ,Manchester United were two goals down . The aggregate goal tally at that time was Manchester United 3-4 AC Milan . I thought Manchester United will give a good performance in the second half , but I was damn wrong. It was the same story , Manchester United gave away possession too cheaply and the didn't threaten AC Milan's goal at all. On the other hand, AC Milan's tactics was great and Kaka was the brilliant spark for AC Milan. Genaro Gattuso was also vital in stopping the mid-field of Manchester United . Manchester United were chasing the game and in about 70 minutes or so, Gilardino caught out Manchester United's defence and he just needed to beat the keeper, Edwin Van Der Saar. He did so with quite a composure and a brilliant finish. It was all over for Manchester United then. Manchester United had to score 3 goals to win the semi-final and it was a lot to ask from any team and especially from that lack lustered Manchester United team. The match ended Manchester United 0-3 AC Milan and the aggregate was Manchester United 3-5 AC Milan.

AC Milan and Liverpool will be playing for the UEFA Champion's League trophy. It will be a repeat of the 2005 UEFA Champion's League finals and AC Milan will be eying to take revenge on Liverpool . Liverpool somehow stole the trophy from AC Milan's grasp with three goals in six mad minutes back in 2005. We will have to wait three weeks to watch this UEFA Champion's League final.

Digg it!!

Preview: Manchester United vs AC Milan Champion's League 2nd leg

Wow. It was a great night for Liverpool yesterday. Liverpool won in the penalty shoot-outs against Chelsea. Manchester United and AC Milan play the second leg of the UEFA Champion's League . Manchester United won 3 goals to 2 against AC Milan in the first leg semi-final match. But Manchester United are in a bit of a disadvantage because of AC Milan's 2 away goals. Still , Manchester United just need to draw against AC Milan tonight to go to the UEFA Champion's League Finals which will be held in Athens. I would prefer to see two English teams battling for the UEFA Champion's League trophy but you can't underestimate an Italian team. Manchester United will play AC Milan at San Siro ( AC Milan's home ground). San Siro is quite an intimidating place to play but I think Manchester United will do the job and advance to the UEFA Champion's League finals.

AC Milan vs Manchester United UEFA Champion's League second leg line up.

Milan (4-4-1-1):

Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Kaladze, Jankulovski; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf; Kakà; Inzaghi.
Subs: Kalac, Cafu, Bonera, Favalli, Brocchi, Serginho, Gilardino.

Manchester U. (4-4-2):

Van Der Sar; O'Shea, Brown, Vidic, Heinze; Fletcher, Scholes, Carrick; C. Ronaldo, Giggs; Rooney.
Subs: Kuszczak, Ferdinand, Eagles, Richardson, Smith, Solskjaer, Saha.

UEFA Champion's League semifinal: Chelsea vs liverpool

Today Chelsea and Liverpool played the second leg of the UEFA Champion's League semi-final match. This game will decide which team will go to the UEFA Champion's League finals. It was a great tactical battle between Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez but Rafa Benitez came out on top. In the first half, Liverpool played a high tempo game and in the 22nd minute, Liverpool got a free kick . It was a training ground free kick and Daniel Agger scored a goal for Liverpool and it was all square for both teams. The aggregate was Liverpool 1-1 Chelsea ( no away goals) after that goal. Liverpool played really well and they could have rapped up the game in the second half but that didn't happen. The match went to extra time and again Liverpool could have won the tie in Extra time. Chelsea created chances few and far between . I felt that if the match went to the penalty shoot-outs , Liverpool would win it because in the past couple of years they have always won shoot-outs. I was dead right. In the penalty shoot-outs , Chelsea missed two penalties. Arjen Robben and Geremi missed the penalties . Zenden took the first penalty and scored , then Arjen Robben took the penalty (I just knew that he wouldn't score) and the Jose Reina saved it. Xavi Alonso , Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard all scored. It was 3-1 for Liverpool. And then it was Geremi's turn. Geremi took the penalty but again Jose Reina saved it. Now if Liverpool scored, they would go to the UEFA Champion's League finals. It was Dirk Kuyt's turn to take the penalty. He took the penalty and scored . Liverpool are in the UEFA Champion's League finals. Now tomorrow Manchester United will play against AC Milan and the winner will have to play Liverpool in the UEFA Champion's League finals which will be held in Athens. I can't wait for tomorrow's Manchester United vs AC Milan UEFA Champion's League semi-final second leg match.

Preview: Chelsea vs Liverpool Champion's League 2nd leg

Chelsea vs Liverpool Champion's League 2nd leg is about to kick off and Liverpool are one goal down in aggregate.Liverpool need to score a goal to make the aggregate score level. If the match ends this way, it will go to extra time and eventually the penalty shoot-outs. If chelsea score just one goal , this match will be decided in the ninety minutes. If this happens, Liverpool will have to win by a two goal margin because of the away goal rule so Liverpool will have to be careful in the back. Last time out, Chelsea's striker Didier Drogba murdered Liverpool defender Daniel Agger and both the players will be playing today. Lets see who wins that battle today. I think Javier Mascherano will be vital for Liverpool. I don't like Chelsea so I will be supporting Liverpool . Even though Liverpool are one of the rivals of Arsenal ( the team I support ), I will be rooting for Liverpool because I just don't like Chelsea aka Chelski (because of the Russian tycoon Roman Ibrahimovic ) .

UEFA Champion's League semifinal 1st leg results

It was an exciting semi-final as expected and Manchester United vs AC Milan was he highlight of the semi-final first leg and Wayne Rooney and Kaka were stars. The score line at the end of the final whistle was Manchester United 3-2 AC Milan. It is a good result for Manchester United . Now Manchester United just need get a draw at San Siro ( AC Milan's home ground) to go through to the UEFA Champion's League finals. On the other hand, Chelsea will also go through to the UEFA Champion's League finals if they draw their match against Liverpool which will be played at Anfield( Liverpool's home ground). I think Chelsea vs Liverpool will be a hard game for both the teams. They might go to extra time. I think Liverpool and Manchester United will go through to the UEFA Champion's League finals.

Well after quite an exciting UEFA Champion's league quarter final second leg matches, Manchester United , Liverpool, Chelsea and AC Milan are through to the semi-final stage. Manchester United will play AC Milan and Chelsea will play Liverpool. It is going to be an exciting UEFA Champion's League Semi-finals. Manchester United vs AC Milan will be played at Old Traford and Chelsea vs Liverpool will be played at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United and Chelsea will have to win without conceding lots of goals if they are to have any chance of going through to the UEFA Champion's League finals. San Siro and Anfield is a hard place to play and score goals so both Manchester United and Chelsea be careful and not concede lots of goals at their home ground because of the away goal rules. Well we will have to wait and see if Manchester United and Chelsea do get a good result at home.

UEFA Champion's League quarter final matches are on this mid week.Today the Second leg quarter final matches will be played and I think it will be a huge night.

Uefa Champions League quarter finals second day

Last night ,two UEFA Champion's League quarter final matches were played. It was the second round of the first leg of the quarter finals .Manchester United played AS Roma and Chelsea played Valencia yesterday and it was some what of a good result for all the teams as all have a chance to go to the semi-final round.Manchester United a little bit hammered in the first half as AS Roma put lots of pressure on manchester United.Second half was a bit different and the game was quite open for the whole of the second half. The score at the final whistle was Manchester United 1-2 AS Roma. The main thing is Manchester United have a vital away goal which count a lot in the UEFA Champion's League. The second match was played between Chelsea and Valencia. It was a hard fought game and Valencia took the lead in Stamford Bridge .Then later Didier Drogba equalised for Chelsea. The scoreline for this match was Chelsea 1-1 Valencia. The second leg of this match will be played at valencia's home ground which is a very hard place to play Valencia. The second leg of this quarter finals will be played next week.I hope all the English teams will get through to the semi final stage except Chelsea.

Highlights: Liverpool 3-0 PSV Eindhoven

This was a great result for Liverpool. You can't ask more .Three away goals is a huge advantage for Liverpool.PSV Eindhoven were lucky not to conceed any more goals.PSV are as good as knocked out of this competition unless they can pull out a miracle like Gerrard usually does.I don't think that will happen.First goal was struck by who else but Steven Gerrard. He opened the scoring for Liverpool at about 27th minute of the match. The second goal was a howler by Jon Arne Risse .And the game was capped up by a goal from Peter Crouch. If you missed the match, you can watch the Liverpool vs PSV Eindhoven highlights below..Liverpool might be peaking at the right time .They also managed to beat Arsenal last week end.The score for that game was Arsenal 1-4 Liverpool.
